Farmhouse - Sleeps 14 - 22 with Hot Tub

The original Farmhouse is the largest of the holiday cottages at Sherrill Farm. With 7 bedrooms sleeping up to 22 guests, it is the perfect holiday home for extended family holidays or groups of friends coming together to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion. This period Farmhouse is packed full of character and has the added bonus of its own large private garden and an 8-seat hot tub. This nestles under the lee of a row of horse chestnut trees where in early spring a carpet of daffodils, primroses and bluebells bloom.

Ground floor: Enter the house through the front door into a large flag-stoned hall off which is a large lounge, a second ‘snug’ lounge, a dining room with massive pine table, a huge well-equipped kitchen with a utility room and a spacious double bedroom with 5ft bed and sofa bed and having an en-suite shower room and toilet. (This bedroom can easily be used as a family room with the addition of two single beds (which we can provide upon request). Also on the ground floor is a separate guest cloakroom.

Large squashy leather sofas and armchairs provide comfortable seating for guests in the main lounge which also has a big inglenook fireplace with a woodburner (logs available on request). There’s a music system in here with Wi-Fi and a large digital TV with Freeview. The smaller snug lounge, featuring a quaint Victorian tiled fireplace and TV. It can also be used as a bedroom having a double sofa bed. It’s a great space for younger members of the family to gather to play on their technology, leaving the larger lounge free for those wishing to socialise.

The impressive oak beamed kitchen is very well equipped to prepare everything from simple breakfasts to large banquets. Together with the utility rooms there seems to be two of every essential item including ovens, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, toasters, kettles, washing machines and tumble driers.

First floor: There are six spacious, light and airy bedrooms on the first floor:

  • One Double bedroom with 5ft four-poster bed
  • One Double bedroom with En-suite Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet
  • One bedroom with four single beds
  • One Twin bedroom
  • Two Triple bedrooms with three single beds in each, one with en-suite bathroom

All the bedrooms have wardrobes, chests of drawers and bedside lighting.

Two of the bedrooms, including the ground floor family room, have 4-poster double beds.

In addition to the three en suites, family bathrooms and guest WC, there are also two separate family bathrooms, both having baths with showers over, sinks and WCs.

To the rear of The Farmhouse is a large enclosed tree-lined garden, laid mainly to lawn, excellent for games of football, rounders, frisbee, or just a spot of gentle relaxation in the sun with a good book or your morning paper. The garden has a BBQ terrace with 2-3 BBQs and a luxury 8-seat hot tub making it a great place for eating and socialising, whether in the heat of the afternoon or at night under the stars.

There is plenty of parking for cars in the courtyard immediately outside the Farmhouse.

Cots, high chairs and stair gates can be provided free of charge. Please ask for these when booking.

Dogs are welcome at The Farmhouse. There is a small charge of £20 per dog per booking.

Changeover day: The changeover day is Friday. We can occasionally be flexible with this during low seasons or for last minute bookings but not during school holidays.

Short Breaks: Short breaks (minimum 3 nights) are welcomed outside the school holidays or if there are less than 14 days to go prior to your date of arrival. A 4-night mid week break (Mon-Fri) is the same price as a 3-night weekend break (Fri-Mon). There is a discount for short breaks (3 nights only) when there are only 11 guests and less staying at The Farmhouse.

Security Deposit: Please note guests staying at The Farmhouse are required to pay a £100 refundable security deposit in cash to the owner on arrival. Unless a deduction is due, this should be returned (in cash) by the owner on the day of departure (Useful to cover your travel costs on the way home!).

When we receive your booking we will check the dates and arrangements of the booking and contact you shortly afterwards confirming that the booking has been processed.

  • Weekly Bookings run from 2pm Friday to 10am Friday
  • 4 Day Breaks run from 2pm Monday to 10am Friday
  • 3 Day Breaks run from 2pm on Friday to 10am Monday
  • Please note. During school holidays, 3 & 4 Day breaks are not available until 2 weeks prior to arrival.
